Exciting News!

Great news from Mrs Hoosein regarding the Chess Megafinals.

The UK Chess Challenge will be taking part entirely online in 2020 – on lichess.org. The organisers are very excited about this new challenge and hope to make it as enjoyable and rewarding as possible for the children. Throughout the summer there will be a ‘Festival of Chess’ to choose from. As well as the Megafinals, Gigafinals and Terafinal, they are also running a Blitz Championship, “Chess 960” Championship and a few others.

Club is open to anyone from total beginner to Grand Master!

Competitions will be announced at various points in the year, and players of any age can enter, as soon as they have a working knowledge of all the moves.

Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge Update

For children who were currently taking part in the Delancey UK Schools Chess Challenge (the one with the badges!), this has been postponed. Mega finals will now take place in the Autumn term instead of May. Don't worry if you are in Y6 - you can still take part in the Mega finals: just let Mrs Hoosein know, or register your interest on the Delancey Chess Challenge website and they will keep you informed directly.
